    Summary
    Our firm bids on over $500M of public work per year. The Estimator will be responsible for the entire estimating process, including subcontractor solicitations, quantitative estimates, pricing, total bid management process to submission, and subcontractor and supplier buy-outs. Lobar, Inc. Corporate office is located in Dillsburg, PA.

    Essential Job Functions
    • Be capable of performing detailed take-offs for multiple divisions including but not limited to site work, concrete, rough carpentry, millwork, thermal & moisture related work, door & window assemblies, miscellaneous specialties
    • Quantify other trades scopes of work for budget purposes
    • Visit project sites to understand site conditions/restrictions
    • Review and analyze Construction blueprints and specifications in the preparation of trade scope analysis sheets
    • Assemble and review estimates by utilizing bidding/estimating software
    • Work with subcontractors during the estimating process and communicate with subcontractors regarding their estimates and bids
    • Receive and analyze subcontractor bids using detailed scope sheets for all trade disciplines
    • Resolve issues with plans and specifications
    • Responsible for post-award/pre-construction subcontractor and supplier negotiations and contracts
    • Build effective relationships with customers, design teams, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer's expectations

    Qualifications
    • Bachelors degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering (preferred)
    • Five years of combined experience in a commercial General Contractor on projects of varying scale and minimum $5 million value in PA, MD, VA region
    • Able to work accurately and efficiently, with a sense of urgency, meeting client deadlines
    • Strong understanding of the Design Bid Build Process
    • Experience with Sage Timberline or similar computer based estimating software including the use of on-screen take-off support programs.
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Strong mathematical and analytical skills to quickly analyze, interpret and compare
    • Must have excellent communication skills to establish efficient communication with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
    • Experience in competitive bid, public work projects (preferred)
    • Experience on projects greater than $5M (preferred)
    • Able to pass a criminal background check and a drug screening test
    • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • CONSTRUCTION SITE SUPERINTENDENT
    Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, and New York
    QUALIFCATIONS:
    -Minimum (5) years of Superintendent experience in the public construction market.
    -Ability to coordinate HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing trades
    -Minimum (5) years’ experience in one of the following markets: K-12 Education, Higher Education, Water/Wastewater, Public Works
    -OSHA 30 (preferred)
    -Forklift operator training (preferred)
    -Ability to read and understand blueprints and project specifications
    -Must have a valid driver’s license

    JOB DESCRIPTION:
    The project superintendent role will be responsible for the overall coordination of the entire project, including MEP contractors who will usually have a separate contract with the owner. Applicant must be able to work with their project manager to track the project estimate and schedule on a routine basis. Technical knowledge and experience in concrete and/or carpentry work is preferred, as self-performed work management will be a daily requirement. OSHA 30 hour training is mandatory and will be provided if not already obtained – jobsite safety is a top priority. Responsibilities also include daily reporting, quality control, and coordination with subcontractors, suppliers, MEP contractors, owners, architects, engineers, and local inspectors.

    Lobar Inc. is large General Contractor working in the public bid markets throughout the entire state of Pennsylvania, as well as Maryland, West Virginia, and New York. We specialize in K-12 education, Higher Education, Water/Wastewater, and all other public construction projects; applicant should have a minimum (5) years of experience managing at least one of these markets. Strong leadership, problem solving, and coordination skills are extremely important for this role.
